PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE: Shared from Plymouth Township Police

The City of Plymouth is sharing the following information from Plymouth Township as part of our shared commitment to keeping our community safe and informed.
The Plymouth Township Police Department is investigating a serious dog attack that occurred early this morning.
On March 28, 2026, at approximately 6:35 a.m., officers responded to the 12000 block of Canton Center Road following reports that a runner was being attacked by three dogs.
Upon arrival, officers encountered aggressive dogs preventing immediate access to the victim. An officer discharged their firearm when approached aggressively. At least one dog was struck, and all three fled the scene.
Officers and paramedics were able to render aid to the victim, who was transported to a local hospital and is currently in stable condition.
Investigation Updates:
- One dog (identified as a Cane Corso) was located near an elementary school, secured, and transported for quarantine.
- A second injured Cane Corso was located approximately five blocks away and was euthanized due to safety concerns.
- The third dog, described as a pit bull, remains at large.
Authorities have identified the owner of the dogs. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
